Welcome to LingoFly. This Privacy Policy explains how LingoFly ("we," "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information about you ("user," "you") when you use the LingoFly app and related services. Our promise: we collect only what we need to run the service, and we never sell your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect three categories of information.
(1) What you give us: phone number or email at sign-up, display name, avatar, learning goals, and self-reported English level. If you sign in via Google / Apple / WeChat, we receive basic profile data from those platforms.
(2) What we generate as you use the app: watch history, favorites, pronunciation recordings, pronunciation feedback results, dictionary lookups, session duration, streaks, device model, OS version, app version, IP address (for regional routing), and crash logs.
(3) What we only collect with your permission: microphone audio, photo library, and notifications.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
· Run and improve core features (recommendations, subtitles, pronunciation feedback)
· Personalize content and difficulty
· Protect accounts, prevent abuse and cheating
· Send product updates and learning reminders (you can turn these off anytime)
· Comply with the law and resolve disputes
· Conduct research, only on anonymized and aggregated data
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising.
4. Storage & Transfer
Data from mainland China users is stored on servers inside mainland China; data from other regions is stored in that region or the nearest compliant overseas server. We use TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest for sensitive fields (passwords, raw pronunciation data). After account deletion, related data is irrecoverably wiped within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
6. Children's Privacy
LingoFly is intended for users aged 16 and over. Children under 13 must not register or provide personal information. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we'll delete it promptly. Parents who suspect unauthorized use by a child can request deletion via contact@glosightai.com.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights over your data:
· Access: download a copy in "Me → Privacy → My Data."
· Correction: update your profile anytime.
· Deletion: tap "Delete Account" in-app; your data will be erased within 30 days.
· Opt out of personalization: toggle off "Personalized recommendations" in settings.
· Withdraw consent: revoking permissions (mic, notifications) doesn't affect data already processed.
· Complain: if you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures: encrypted transit, regular security audits, least-privilege access, and two-factor authentication for admins. That said, no system is 100% safe — please keep your password secure too. In the event of a breach, we'll notify regulators and affected users within 72 hours.
9. International Transfers
If you use LingoFly outside mainland China, your data may be transferred to the country where our servers are located. We make sure the recipient provides an equivalent level of protection and, where required, sign Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes (e.g., new uses of data), we'll notify you in a timely manner via in-app banner, push, or email. Continuing to use LingoFly means you accept the updated policy; if you don't, you can delete your account.
